Corey Nagle, artist
_Born and raised in western Pennsylvania, Corey has long been interested in drawing and sketching, especially birds and wildlife. In the fall of 2001, while
working for the Environmental Learning Centers of Connecticut (ELCCT),
Corey was asked to create a mural depicting the various habitats of
Connecticut for the animal exhibit at the Harry C. Barnes Memorial
Nature Center. While employed at ELCCT, he also created an
interactive puzzle wall mural displayed at Barnes Nature Center and two
additional murals in the Orchard House at the Indian Rock Nature
Preserve (depicting the farm animals and the apple orchard throughout
the four seasons).
From this experience, Corey’s artistic interests continued to evolve and expand. Without any formal training, he began experimenting with various mediums, including chalk pastel, pen and ink, acrylic paint, watercolor, and oil paint. He continues to paint as a hobby and enjoys the creative process of each piece of artwork. Corey enjoys painting a variety of subject matter and expanding his use of mediums and techniques.
Corey enjoys viewing the work of other artists, gaining insights into the creativity of the artist, and being inspired to create his own works. In 2010, Corey was awarded two blue ribbons at the Terryville Lions Club Fair in the categories of abstract (Dancer) and watercolor flowers (Purple Gladiolas).
Corey's latest public pieces include two ducks for the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce "Ducks on Parade" event - Adam the Duck for the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce and Eli the Duck for the Town of Plymouth Chamber of Commerce.
Corey has recently authored and illustrated several children's books. He currently resides in Bristol, Connecticut with his wife and daughter.
